Despite Simon Pegg’s hope that the follow-up to ‘Star Trek’ will kick off production later this year, the upcoming project is not expected to start production as early as Spring or Summer 2012.

Not only fans who cannot wait to see another “Star Trek” film, but also the cast are eager to act in front of cameras for the untitled Star Trek sequel. However, the stars will have to wait for at least a year to work on the project as the shooting will likely be kicked off in 2011 instead of this year like it was recently reported.

According to TrekMovie, sources said the second “Star Trek” film is not expected to start filming until next year, in around late spring or early summer. While scripting for the movie is still underway, it is possible that pre-production will begin this year. (more…)

At the Oscars earlier this month, the 29-year-old Star Trek stud was talked about by the movie’s make-up artist Mindy Hall.

She shared, “I call Chris Pine C.P. C.P., I know you’re not in this room but he’s somewhere. Chris Pine is amazing. He’s not only a wonderful actor, he’s a wonderful human being. He’s a fantastic collaborator. Our entire cast surrendered themselves to us completely, which frees us up and liberates us so that we paint in much broader, stronger, fiercer strokes. When our actors trust us the way this group did…but Chris Pine is amazing. I mean, I was all over him.”

Trueslant.com talks to Tania Gunadi, co-star of the Disney XD channel’s “Aaron Stone” series, about Chris Pine and Star Trek.

“Working on Star Trek with J.J. Abrams was so amazing. My alien makeup took five hours in the morning to put on; we did 11 days of fitting to make it work. My ears would move as I walked and I had a really long tail. J.J. would ask every couple of minutes, ‘Are you okay? Can you breathe?’… Chris Pine is so cute. After our scene we walked outside. He said, ‘Are you okay? Do you need a jacket?’ And I said, ‘No, I just need a hug.’”
